Summary
Epic Games has released a new patch forFortnitewhich adds Duos to the recently introduced Reload mode, alongside a few other minor changes. Fans have been waiting to see what is next in line for the new mode, and the option to play the game induos has been one of the most requested features forFortnite’s Reload mode.
While most players were wondering which collaborationFortnitehas in store next for fans, Epic Games surprised fans once again by dropping an all-new game mode instead. Reload gives players some of the fun parts ofFortnitebut with a much smaller area which is based on the original Chapter 1 map. With just 40 players in a match, and squad members getting the ability to respawn, things become much more fast-paced than regularFortnite. Now, the mode has received yet another feature.

In a new tweet,Fortnitehas revealed the changes that are going live with the new update. By far the major highlight of the update has been theaddition of Duos toFortnite’s Reload mode. This means that players can now pair up with just one of their friends and hop into the new game mode. Alongside that, there are a few other changes that are debuting as well.
Firstly, the crawl speed has been increased when players are “down but not out.” This is referring to the state where players are downed and can be revived by their teammates. The increased crawl speed should allow them to find cover faster, giving their teammates some more breathing space to deal with the current threat before reviving them.
Apart from that, shotguns will now spawn more frequently in Reload. This has the potential to shake up the meta depending on how drastic the change is, considering the fact that the smaller size of the map makesFortniteweapons like the shotgun much more useful inReload. Additionally, Exotic and Mythic items will drop less frequently in the game, which should lead to more balanced encounters.
Last but not least,Fortnitehas also made some changes exclusive to Duos. The reboot timings inFortnite’sDuo mode have been reduced, allowing players to jump back into the game much more quickly as compared to the Squads mode. Considering that the respawn behavior is one of the most interesting aspects of the mode, the faster respawn time should make the matches much more exciting, and could evenhelpFortniteplayers in winning aReload match.
