Nintendo Switch has finally receivedTchia, an action-adventure game that was originally released as a PlayStation console exclusive.Tchiafirst came out for PS5, PS4, and PC on Jul 26, 2025.
Being a critically well-received title,Tchiais one of the major indie games that launched last year. It is developed by Canada-based studio, Awaceb, and follows the journey of the titular character as she embarks on an exhilarating tropical adventure. After being out for over a year,Tchiahas followed through with the rumors earlier this monthand made its way onto Switch.
On June 27,Tchiaofficially hit Nintendo Switch and is currently available for purchase for $29.99. A pricier edition of the game,Tchia: Oleti Edition, is up for grabs for $34.99. This particular edition comes with the base game and the Kepler Customization Pack, which adds 4 costume sets for the protagonist and 4 customization packs for her boat. These additional goodies are themed around other games in publisher Kepler Interactive’s catalog.
Tchia Delivers a New Caledonia-themed Adventure
Tchiais an open-world action-adventure game set in the backdrop of an exotic tropical location. It follows the story of the protagonist’s personal quest and takes place on a fictional archipelago, which is heavily inspired by New Caledonia, the hometown of Awaceb founders Phil Crifo and Thierry Boura. The game focuses significantly on exploration and lets the player climb obstacles, ride boats, glide in the air, dive under the water, among other things. Notably,Tchia also has the ability to “soul-jump"and control over 30 different animals and even a range of inanimate objects. The player also has the option to play the ukulele and master tunes that can affect the world around them.
Now thatTchiahas arrived at last, fans can look forward to othergames coming to Nintendo Switch this year, some of which were announced at Nintendo Direct earlier this month. These games include a variety of titles, ranging fromThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of WisdomtoMarioand Luigi: Brothership. Judging by the big names on its refreshed slate of forthcoming games, it may be safe to say that the console giant is looking to end the Switch generation on a high note.
While there is still not enough information about the next Nintendo console, the Japanese company officially confirmed its existence last month. Without revealing too much,Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmedthat the Switch successor would be announced by March 2025. Fans can expect more details about the console to come out as the year progresses.
