ThePokemon Trading Card Gamecontinues to be popular, with plenty of new releases and new card types being released. This was especially prominent last year, since it was thePokemonfranchise’s 25th Anniversary. From a big anniversary set with classic reprints toPokemoncards of various music artists, there were plenty of ways that the franchise was celebrating this milestone in the TCG. This momentum is only continuing to move forward this year, thanks to the release ofPokemon Legends: Arceus.

This newestPokemongame sees trainers thrown back in time, where they have ended up in the Hisui Region. This allows players to meet the ancestors of various characters seen throughout the series, along with ancient versions of known Pokemon. Despite only being out for only a week,Pokemon Legends: Arceushas seen incredible commercial success, already selling more than 6 million copies. With this success, it’s no surprise that some Pokemon from the Hisui Region are coming to the trading card game as well.

The first set that will feature Hisuian Pokemon is the upcoming Battle Legion set, which is the ninth subset that is a part of thePokemon Sword and ShieldTCG series. It has a big focus on Pokemon from the Sinnoh Region, with creatures such as Combee, Vespiquen and Garchomp. There’s even a special Garchomp V card that has Cynthia on the artwork. TheHisuian Pokemoncurrently revealed to be coming to this set are the newly introduced evolved forms, Kleavor and Wyrdeer.

Both of these cards each have special artwork depicting the Pokemon by themselves, accompanied by a trainer. The evolved form of Scyther,Kleavor, for example, has Lian from the Pearl Clan training with them. Meanwhile, the Wyrdeer card has the Diamond Clan’s Mai in the artwork for this card. This art is representative of a character trait of Mai, where she is responsible for taking care of an ancient Wyrdeer who inhabits the Obsidian Fieldlands. A supporter card representing Kamado will also be available in this set.

This set for thePokemon Trading Card Gamewill be available later this month in Japan, with no release date currently slated for the west. With tons of positive reviews and sales forPokemon: Legends Arceus, there’s little doubt that more Hisuian Pokemon will be introduced into the TCG in the near future. If there are DLC and updates coming to the game as well, then any Pokemon introduced through that will also be coming to thePokemon Trading Card Game.
