The expansion is set to flesh out important elements in the game’s lore, and players are really looking forward to more things to do in the game. The first DLC,Echoes of the Fallen, added some story parts that happen just before the final battle, whileThe Rising Tidewill explore the aftermath.
One of the expectedstory threads ofThe Rising Tideis the return of the Eikon Leviathan, which was teased in the main game but was conspicuously absent. This chapter will reportedly focus on Leviathan’s resurrection, and will presumably add it to Clive’s collection of Eikons to tap into. Clive is able to choose from a vast collection of Eikons, from Ifrit, Phoenix, Titan, Garuda, Shiva, Bahamut, and Odin, and new in-game abilities and powers will be a treat for fans.
The Rising Tideis also set to add new character Shula, who will apparently aid Clive and his party in rescuing the Dominant of Leviathan, or the person who is able to summon the Eikon. Shula is also a resident of the new game area Mysidia, signifying that there’s a lot for players to explore and discover in the DLC.Final Fantasyfans will have a lot to be busy with soon, though there’s no word yet about any other DLC coming after this.
