Summary
A fan ofFallout: New Vegasmanaged to recreate its Nipton location in the map editor ofFar Cry 5, and gamers are impressed by the accuracy.Far Cry 5andFallout: New Vegasare both older games, with the former releasing in 2018 and the latter all the way back in 2010. Still, both titles remain classics that continue to draw players back in and generate interesting conversations after all these years.
Indeed, both games have quite a lot in common. WhileNew Vegasis an action RPG andFar Cry 5is more of a shooter, both feature massive open worlds, lots of combat, and plenty of dark themes. Both titles are even some ofthe best open-world games set in North America, withFar Cry 5taking place in Montana andNew Vegas, of course, set in a post-apocalyptic Nevada. Now, one fan of both games has found a way to blend them with incredible results.

On Reddit, a user going by mojoswoptops2020 has shared images of theFar Cry 5map they created based on the town of Nipton inFallout: New Vegas. Gamers who played Obsidian Entertainment’s action RPG will remember Nipton as a town that has been destroyed by Caesar’s Legion that can be discovered early in a playthrough. The location serves to introduce the brutality of this faction as players learn how the Legion invaded the town and proceeded to torture and execute all but two inhabitants. Nipton looks truly terrifying when it’s discovered in the game and mojoswoptops2020 recreates that with great care.
The Fallout: New Vegas Town of Nipton is Brought to Far Cry 5
Fans of the fifth entry in Ubisoft’s shooter series have long known the potential of its map-editing feature and continue to make excellent use of it. Recently, for example, this sameFar Cry 5player built incredible maps inspired byFar Cry 2that had gamers excited. Others have already figured out how to use the editor to honor other games, as well.
Just last month, aFar Cry 5player combinedSkyrimstyle and aCall of Dutymapfor another editor creation. While many of these fan-generated maps have been impressive environments and superb recreations of other titles' aesthetics, few have managed to capture such a grim and spooky vibe as this representation of the town of Nipton.

Fallout: New Vegasis an old game, but it still holds a special place in the hearts of many players. There is still a passionate community that likes to replay and discuss the title and even bring its lore and setting into other games. This passion is a big part of why some argue thatFallout: New Vegasdeserves a remake soon.Far Cry 5fans, especially those that like a bit of terror with their experience, and especially those that are also fans ofFallout, will definitely want to take a look at this map that reminds players whyNew Vegaswas so great.
