Fallout 76 Lets Players Roleplay as Zeta Aliens

Fallout 76isn’t the first game in the franchise that lets players use Zeta alien weapons, but what makes these returning weapons so good inFallout 76is that players can apply newLegendary weapon effectsto them. Combined with the Zeta alien Power Armor skins, players ultimately have all the tools they need to create a Zeta alien roleplaying build complete with a pistol, rifle, and/or melee weapon. Specifically, the Zeta alien weapons currently available inFallout 76are:

Taking the roleplaying potential even further, players can also unlock a variety of structures and furniture inspired by the Zeta aliens to build in theirCAMPs inFallout 76. Even without these proper furnishings, some players have found creative CAMP-building techniques to build their own UFOs and other Zeta alien architecture. There have also been multiple Zeta alien-themed rewards from previous Seasons and Scoreboards forFallout 76, so players can get their hands on a lot of Zeta alien memorabilia in this entry of theFalloutfranchise.

Fallout 76’s Secret Zeta Alien Quest Is One of Its Best Easter Eggs

During theInvaders From Beyond Seasonal Event, a Public Event will spawn at the top of every hour and task players with defeating a horde of Zeta aliens, including a special commander as a final boss. Normally, players can only encounter Zeta aliens during the Invaders From Beyond Seasonal Event, but recently, Zeta Aliens have been added to the rotation of enemies that can spawn inFallout 76’s Daily Ops activity.

Another way to encounter the secondhand presence of Zeta aliens is to complete a series of secret quests inFallout 76. This unmarked series of quests sends players on a difficult multi-stage scavenger hunt that will eventually reward the keys to unlocking multiple TNT Domes at the Black Mountain Ordnance Works location. These keys can only be collected by one person on a given server, so it can potentially be a competition between players to reach the end of this quest.

Opening the TNT Domes at the end of the quest will give players some extremely rare rewards and an otherwise frustrating conclusion. Inside TNT Dome number eight, players can find a terminal labeled “top secret” and a holotape audio recording labeled “the truth”. However, when attempting to interact with these objects, they will immediately self-destruct. Just when players are seemingly inches away from solving theFalloutfranchise’s alien mysteries, it turns out to be an elaborate prank on the player.

On top of all the Zeta alien gear and secrets inFallout 76, there is also a separate alien race that players can encounter. There are many new and uniquecryptids inFallout 76inspired by local folklore, one of which is an alien known as the Flatwoods Monster. This creature’s presence isn’t ever elaborated on or explained inFallout 76, further adding to the franchise’s mysterious presence of aliens. Some fans have taken the alien presences inFallout 76as a sign that the franchise is building up to these figures playing a larger role in the events of the futureFalloutgames, though it could also be seen as an homage to the franchise’s running in-joke.

Fallout 76is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
