AFallout 4gamer has uncovered a very weird bug, discovering that there’s a spot of missing water in Boston and that falling in that place causes players to fall to their deaths. Even today, it’s still possible to find bugs liketurning Nick Valentine into a Jet addict inFallout 4, but this is a really weird one.
Bethesda is famous for two things: creating incredibly big and fun gaming worlds, and having tons of bugs in them. Back whenFallout 4was released in 2015, it managed to get glowing reviews from several critics but, as usual, gamers foundseveral crazy bugs inFallout 4. That’s generally expected in such large games, as it’s essentially impossible for even skilled developers to iron out all possible variables that could interact and break before a game’s release. However, it seems that some bugs stood the test of time.

AFallout 4player called CubicalFudgel has recently shared an interesting discovery: a missing water zone inFallout 4, in which the players will fall off to their deaths if they jump (or swim) there. In the short clip shared by the gamer, it’s possible to see the exact location of this hidden bug. If the player jumps on the river at the exact spot near the ruins of Forest Grove Marsh, they will simply die from fall damage, as there’s no water to swim in, despite the appearances.
This discovery amazed some of the players in the community, who tried to kill theirFallout 4main charactersto see if the bug worked. Star_Shine32, for instance, confirmed that the issue was real, breaking the two legs of their Lv.105 character when they finally found the spot. Hilariously, they didn’t die from the fall damage, as they had a character with a very high level, and were able to walk around until they found the water again and could swim. CubicalFudgel also claimed that they found another “empty water” spot around Thicket Excavations. However, they had no records or proof of it.
If it’s up to Bethesda, however, the upcomingStarfieldwon’t suffer the same fate as most of its older titles regarding bugs. Recently, Xbox head Matt Booty affirmed thatStarfieldwill have fewer bugs than other Bethesda games, promising to finally offer a smooth experience from day one. Time will tell if this claim will turn out to be true, though, as the space exploration title will also be bigger than any other game made by the company, which increases the possibilities of weird glitches.
Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
