9MiHoYo Has An In-House Music Team
For their music production, miHoYo has their in-house music team, theHOYO-MiX. This department was founded back in 2011, long beforeGenshin Impact’s release in 2020. As forGenshin Impact, while the storyline is not related, a small teaser in HI3 shows that Teyvat too is a part of the same multiverse.

This adds to the game’s long list of awards, like App Store’s iPhone Game of the Year (2020), Google Play’s Best Game of 2020, and TapTap Game’s Game of the Year (2020).
7We All Know Yu-Peng Chen, But There’s Also Zoe Cai
Yu-Peng Chen’s name is attached to everyGenshin Impactsoundtrack, both as composer and producer. However, the same can’t be said aboutZoe Cai. Zoe Cai is the Music Director and leader of the HOYO-MiX, making him one of the most significant people in the making ofGenshin Impact’s soundtrack.
While he wasn’t credited for composing inGenshin Impact, Zoe Cai is the core composer for Honkai Impact 3rd’s music. HI3 was released in 2016 in China, five years after the founding of HOYO-MiX itself.

6Collaborated With Artists Around The World
Around the time of their anniversary,Genshin Impactheld an online concert for music fans to enjoy. Unfortunately, it didn’t get the hype it deserves as thefanbase was unhappy with the anniversaryrewards. However, for those who are up to it,the concert is available to watch on YouTube. The event features talents from the United States, Belgium, and South Korea.
Of course, this isn’t the first time miHoYo collaborated with artists around the world. For their regional theme, HOYO-MiX collaborated with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.

This has been theirstance even before the game’s release. In aDeveloper Insightback in June 2020, Zoe Cai and Yu-Peng Chen said that the music in beta is not a final version. For example, the current Dusk Login music (yes, the one that gives you chill) wasn’t the same BGM that was used in the beta.

2Azhdaha’s Boss Theme Features Ancient Chinese Lyrics
Genshin Impact’s OSTsare usually full music with no words involved. However, Azhdaha’s boss theme includes lyrics, and that too, in Ancient Chinese. This singing may be vague, however, as the music of the theme is so epic that the lyrics are clouded by it.
Nevertheless, fans shouldn’t miss out on this hidden art. IfTravelers choose to dive deepinto the words, they’ll find that the epic theme tells the tale of Azhdaha’s erosion over the years of isolation, and his anger toward Morax, the Geo Archon.

1Signora’s Boss Theme Features Latin Lyrics
Similar to Azhdaha’s, the Crimson Witch’s battle song also includes fiery lyrics. However, unlike the Chinese-themed Azhdaha,Rosalyne hails from Mondstadt(Europe-inspired). So this time, her boss theme is sung in Latin. Just like Childe, Signora also has two stages in her battle; Delusion and Vision phase. Each has different lyrics.
The song tells the story of how La Signora joins the Fatui, becoming a loyal subject to one of the Gods (Archons), Tsaritsa. And how the Crimson Witch would burn everything to defeat her enemies.

Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
