Elden Ringis a massive game, but with it having been out for over a month now, many gamers have completed FromSoftware’s latest release. As such, manyElden Ringfans are entering new game plus, and one player found a funny message that judged them for their second playthrough.

Like in other FromSoftware titles, messages are a defining aspect ofElden Ring. Through these messages, gamers can help their fellow players or hinder their progress. Messages have been used to reveal hidden walls, warn of ambushes, and help solve puzzles, though they can just as often trick players into falling to their deaths. The signs have also been a way to spread memes, ranging from the “fort night” joke toElden Ring’s popular Dog meme. While these are great uses of the feature, one gamer came upon another.

Upon starting their second journey throughThe Lands Between, Reddit user quiteagentleman came upon a message that they had to share with theElden Ringcommunity. Hilariously, the message read “here again…? Seek grass.” Clearly left by another player that was also starting their second run through the game, the judgmental sign is telling quiteagentleman to stop playing the game and get some fresh air. In the comments, many were quick to add to the joke and share other funny new game plus signs they have seen.

The Redditor octo-dad pointed out “try maidens,” the game’s equivalent of “get a girlfriend.” Another popular sign highlighted by both Ryengu and HendoAU had a very similar purpose, reading “no life ahead, all the more time for Elden Ring.” Funnily enough, theElden Ringplayerthat left the message highlighted in the post, Brazz_Knuckzz415, also left a comment. While there are many messages of this type, all seem to be left in jest, as those leaving them behind seem to be starting new game plus playthroughs as well. Overall, the message and those like it are excellent examples of how funny the system can be.

Alongside entertaining comments,Elden Ringfans gave some advice on how to approach new game plus. Each playthrough increases the health of enemies, so while players likely have fully upgraded weapons that will carry them through NG+1, further playthroughs will see that damage fall off quickly. As such, gamers will need more than one ofthe bestElden Ringweaponsto finish their playthroughs, as some serious levels of skill will be necessary in NG+2 and beyond.

While the number of funny messages will only grow larger with time due toElden Ring’s sales success, this particular note was seen at the perfect time. While quiteagentleman may or may not have been inspired to touch grass after seeing the note, they likely got a laugh out of the message.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
