While exploring The Lands Between inElden Ring, the Tarnished will encounter many adversaries, especially the major bosses found in every region. There are a total of 15 major bosses spread across The Lands Between and defeating them will earn you their Remembrances, similar to boss souls from theDark Soulsseries. One of the best aspects of From Software’sSoulsborne gamesis how you can actually master the power of bosses. InElden Ring, this is achieved by trading boss Remembrances with Enia at Roundtable Hold. While trading the Remembrance, you will have to choose between two options.

These can range from weapons and spells to Talismans and Ashes of War. Oftentimes, you will want both of the Remembrance rewards. Fortunately, From Software has thought ahead in regard to this. Their answer to this problem is the Walking Mausoleums, where you’re able toduplicate Remembrances. But here’s the catch: there are only seven of these mausoleums, while there are over 20+ Remembrances to collectin the base game andShadow of the ErdtreeDLC combined. So, you’ll need to be careful when duplicating because if you mess up and pick the wrong option, you’ll have to search for another mausoleum or start a New Game+ to try again if you run out.

Elden Ring - Walking Masoleum

Updated September 6th, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter:The Walking Mausoleums in Elden Ring are by far one of the most interesting concepts this game introduces. These magnificent creaturesare a diegetic methodof duplicating boss Remembrances in-game, and they require the Tarnished to actually travel the Lands Between and find all the hidden Walking Mausoleums. However, despite their massive size, these things can actually be quite difficult to find sometimes, so we’ve broken down exactly how they work and where to find them all below.

Walking Musoleum Differences

Bell Vs No Bell & Where to Find All Walking Mausoleums

Before startingthe search for Walking Mausoleums, players need to know the difference between mausoleums with bells and those without bells.Remembrances obtained by defeating Shardbearers such as Full Moon Rennala and Starscourge Radahn can only be duplicated at Walking Mausoleums with bells hanging below the actual ‘mausoleum’ part of their bodies.

Out of the seven total Walking Mausoleums inElden Ring, five of them have bells and thus can duplicate every remembrance inElden Ring. The ones without a bellcan only duplicate Remembrances of non-Shardbearerssuch as theRegal Ancestor Spirit,Astel, Naturalborn of the Void,Fire Giant,Maliketh, the Black Blade, and so on.Additionally, theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC forElden Ringalso added another method of duplicating Remembrances called Remembrance Duplication Coffins, three of them to be precise, which are just hidden coffins that you’ll recognize from inside the Walking Mausoleums placed throughout the Lands of Shadow. These Remembrance Duplication Coffins can be found at:

West Weeping Peninsula

The first Walking Mausoleum is located in the ever-raining Weeping Peninsula, south of Limgrave.you may travel south from Limgrave to eventually find the Bridge of Sacrifice and cross it to reach the Weeping Peninsula.

After entering the Weeping Peninsula, head west to eventually find the Church of Pilgrimage. The Walking Mausoleum can be found south of the Church of Pilgrimage.

Mausoleum Compound in East Lirunia of the Lakes

In the eastern part of Liurnia, you’ll eventually discover an area called Mausoleum Compound, where you’re able to find two Walking Mausoleums wandering around relatively close to each other. To reach the Mausoleum Compound, you can either head south from the Frenzied Flame Village or go north from theChurch of Vows. After reaching the Mausoleum Compound Site of Grace, you can find a Walking Mausoleum on the lake south of the Site of Grace.

To find the second Walking Mausoleum here, you will have to climb the small hill to the north. It should be easy to spot both of them once you have reached the nearby Site of Grace.

Mausoleum 4 (With Bell)

Northeast Liurnia of the Lakes

After taking the portal to the east exit from theMain Academy Gate in Raya Lucaria, you’ll reach the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace. By going to the cliff’s edge to the east, you can spot a Walking Mausoleum wandering down below.Unlike most mausoleums, this one has no skulls growing over its rocky feet, instead, these skulls grow on the shrubbery surrounding the Mausoleum on the top of its back. This means you’ll need to get on top of the Mausoleum to break the skulls and make the actual mausoleum accessible, and this is a bit of an involved process.

First, teleport to the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace and head to the cliff to the west which has tombstone-like slabs inserted along the edge. Use these slabs to get down, but don’t completely drop down to ground level. Now, you’ll need to wait for the Walking Mausoleum to come close to them. It will eventually come close to the cliff and take a short pause during which you have to use Torrent to jump across to the mausoleum’s entrance.Alternatively, if you don’t want to tediously wait for the Mausoleum to approach that close, you can use the Spiritspring east of these tombstone-like slabs as a way of directly jumping up onto the Walking Mausoleum’s back.

Castle Sol, Mountaintops of the Giants

Next up is probably the most obvious Walking Mausoleum location, the one that’s just north of Castle Sol’s entrance. To reach Castle Sol, you’ll have to climb the slope behind the Freezing Lake Site of Grace and then head west until you reach the area with giant skeletons popping out of the ground due to a hidden Tibia Mariner. From there, take the path going downhill and go northwest to reach Castle Sol.

Break the skull overgrowth on the foot of the Walking Mausoleum outside Castle Sol to bring it down, just like most of the other mausoleums, and you’ll be able to use the coffin inside to duplicate any Remembrance.

Consecrated Snowfield

After obtaining both halves of the Haligtree Medallion, you’ll be able to make your way to the Consecrated Snowfield.Northeast of Ordina, Liturgical Town, an iconic location inElden Ringdue to the sniper-accurate Albinaurics that patrol the town, you can find the Apostate Derelict, a rundown church home to Phillia, Towering Little Sister, as well as the Walking Mausoleum just outside of the Apostate.

This is also the last location you’ll need to reach for Latenna’s questline, as you’ll end up summoning her directly in front of this giant ‘sleeping’ woman. Just remember to activate the Site of Grace in the Apostate Derelict before going to face the Walking Mausoleum found outside of it.

Deeproot Depths

The final Walking Mausoleum is located north of The Nameless Eternal City Site of Grace in the Deeproot Depths. To reach Deeproot Depths, you’ll have to either progress Fia the Deathbed Companion’s questline or find the secret tunnel located deep beneath the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, both of which are pretty involved.

Deeproot Depths’ Walking Mausoleum is similar to the mausoleum next to East Raya Lucaria Gate in that it’s missing the skulls growing on its legs. Instead, you’ll need to climb the root branches of the Erdtree located west of the mausoleum and wait for it to eventually come close, then jump on it. Break the skull overgrowth around the doors of the mausoleum to stop its movement and access the duplication coffin inside.
