That starts with visual improvements, as Techland is adding new dismemberment animations, visualizations for specific enemy damage including exposed bones or eyeballs, and other improvements like better blood and guts and more smashed head visuals. Gameplay is also being impacted, though, with new hit detection for enemy reactions to certain weapons, enemy limbs having additional dismemberment options, dismemberment through environmental damage, and the addition of burning and electrocuted spread through groups of enemies.

Beyond the brutality changes, several major features have been added. Gear transmogs are self-explanatory, allowing players to adjust their appearance separate from equipped gear pieces. Weapon crafting will allow players togather weapon blueprints just like the originalDying Light, which can then be crafted with randomized affixes.

The Pilgrim Outpost website is especially interesting. Here, players can activate bounties and receive Pilgrim Reputation Points for completing them. Earning Reputation ranks grants Pilgrim Tokens, which in turn can be spent at the Armory to acquire unique weapons and outfits – including some exclusive to the Pilgrim Outpost. Bounties refresh weekly, encouraging players to revisitDying Light 2for special challenges and rewards.

A significant amount of other changes have been made toDying Light 2. Players can teleport to their co-op partners,Howler numbers have been rebalanced during the night, enemies can be knocked over with slides now, two-handed weapons have been buffed, and there are more encounters during the day. That’s just a taste ofDying Light 2’s Gut Feeling Update, which players can experience now.

Dying Light 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
