The world ofDisney Dreamlight Valleyoffers an experience beyond seemingly carefree interactions with Disney characters, preparation of elaborate meals, and leisurely fishing. From the very beginning of the game, players encounter very clear signs of a darker element at play. Progressing through the main story quests, players uncover details about acatastrophic event known as The Forgetting, which has drastically altered the Valley and impacted its residents. The player’s objective is to uncover the root of this disturbance and assist the Valley’s inhabitants in restoring their normal lives.
TheOld Ruler’s Lost Diariesrepresent a unique set of Memories that offer players a glimpse into the Valley’s past before the Forgetting. Each diary entry contains a short excerpt composed by the “Old Ruler.” They reveal their daily experiences in the Valley,interactions with beloved charactersresiding there, and observations about the various biomes within the game. Players can uncover more entries during story quests that reveal details directly connected toDreamlight Valley’s broader narrative.
There are57 Old Ruler’s Lost Diariesfor players to unlock inDisney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time. Of these, 13 are discovered through exploration and quests completed in the Valley, and an additional 10 are exclusively found on Eternity Isle. The memory section for the Lost Diaries will not indicate the Eternity Isle memories as missing if the player has not purchased theA Rift in Timeexpansion. All Old Ruler’s Lost Diaries Dreamlight Valley Locations
Players can discover a total of47 Old Ruler’s Lost Diarieswithin the confines of the Valley and its related quests. Each Lost Diary is located at a specific position and unveils a unique memory. These are revealed though collecting sparkling pieces of paper that can be found on the ground in the Valley’s biomes,inside character’s houses, and in certain quest-specific areas. Interacting with the paper unlocks the corresponding memory. Here’s where each of the Old Ruler’s Lost Diaries can be found.
Some Lost Diaries are not currently available in the game, leading to gaps in numbering that will only be addressed in a future update. Presently, players are unable to unlock Old Ruler’s Lost Diary #22. Consequently, the completion tracker will stay at 47/48 until this memory is added to the game.
