With Blizzard set to launchDiablo 4in June, the developer has held multiple test phases for the action RPG and has now revealed some changes that have been made based on fan feedback from the beta. Beyond an alpha testing phase that likely included Blizzard friends and family,Diablo 4has received multiple betas to iron things out, and some of these adjustments have been highlighted by the developer.
WhenDiablo 4was first announced back at Blizzcon 2019, fans reacted to the action RPG sequel with wide praise which was a departure from what Blizzard received the prior year for theDiablo Immortalreveal. Due to the hype surrounding the sequel to 2012’sDiablo 3,Diablo 4has garnered many pre-orders from existing and new fans that have kept up with its development and wanted to get their hands on it. BecauseDiablo 4pre-ordersincluded access to the beta, countless players have logged into the latest incarnation of Sanctuary and provided their perspective on what could be made better, and Blizzard has listened to several inquiries.

Blizzard has confirmed thattheDiablo 4betahas resulted in a number of changes to the upcoming ARPG, with expected class balance and boss adjustments included in the mix. Beyond what manyDiablo 4players may suspect, Blizzard has also minimized the amount of backtracking that players will have to do when going from one dungeon to another, with more dungeon events added. TheDiablo 4cellars that are intended to reward players with loot and renown have been made to yield a chest every time which rectifies something that beta players noticed wasn’t working properly during the test phase.
Based on Blizzard’s statement, theDiablo 4bossesthat have been altered include Malnok, Vhenard, and T’chort which have been adjusted due to their difficulty for melee players. These bosses have had their fights changed in a way that may differ significantly from their original encounters inDiablo 4, while the Butcher was modified to be harder to defeat in the third and fourth World Tiers. Among other quality-of-life improvements made toDiablo 4since beta are crowd control breaking abilities for every class that have similar cooldowns, removing an attack speed buff that was unintentionally created by move-canceling, and user interface moves that Blizzard fans may prefer.
Although Blizzard has already stated whichDiablo 4characters have been changed, there may be even more additions to the list in the future as the developer optimizes the ARPG ahead of its June launch. Given that priorDiabloexperiences have offered post-launch content on top of the base game,Diablo 4will continue to grow, with some things potentially requiring further tweaking far beyond release.
Diablo 4will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on June 6.
