Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. The countdown is on, asDestiny 2players are now less than 2 weeks away from the end of Season of the Seraph and the start of the Lightfall expansion. This week, players finally gained access totheDestiny 2Seraph finale event, which certainly had a number of interesting story developments, including the death of a character who has been around since the first game.

This week also brought about a massive State of the Game blog fromDestiny 2game director Joe Blackburn, which gave fans a great look at what Bungie is planning over the next year. Including name reveals for Season of Defiance and Season of the Deep, the blog also showcased planned changes to the core experience to make it more rewarding based on how players want to play. One of the moreexciting reveals for many was a new Exotic Mission rotator, which is planned to launch sometime in Season 22 and will make previously vaulted missions available again on a weekly rotation.

For now, the weekend merchant Xur has finally arrived back inside ofDestiny 2for another weekend visit. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 18, 2025.

Where is Xur?

Over this weekend, players will want to head to the Tower hanger to find Xur.

As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Destiny 2 Dawnblade

Exotic Armor

Wings of Sacred Dawn - Warlock chest armor

The rarely seen chest piece called Wings of Sacred Dawn is back in stock with Xur this weekend. The exotic comes with the perk called Tome of Dawn, which suspends a Dawnblade Warlock in the air while aiming their weapon. In turn, this improves airborne accuracy, reduces incoming flinch, and grants damage resistance. Weapon hits extend this effect’s duration and it provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Ultimately, this exotic is a tough one to recommend largely due to the fact that it makes the player a very easy target for enemies being exposed in midair without any cover. The benefits are nice, but this isn’t going to replace some of the other top tier Warlock exotics. Also complicating the fact is that not only is this the lowest roll this week, the distribution is a little odd for Warlock players with a very high Mobility and Strength. Not the greatest this week and certainly worth a pass.

Stat Values (61 Total):

Young Ahamkara’s Spine - Hunter gauntlet

The bone inspired armor called Ahamkara’s Spine is on offer this week for Hunters. It comes with an exotic perk called Wish-Dragon Teeth, whichincreases tripmine grenade duration and blast radius. Better yet, any damage done with the ability returns bonus tripmine grenade energy.

Also coming in at the highest of 64 this week, the overall roll is solid, if unspectacular. Recovery is the highest stat, followed by Discipline and Resilience. It’s certainly not a required purchase this week, but it could certainly be worse.

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon Hand Cannon

Stat Values (64 Total):

Eternal Warrior- Titan helmet

The unique looking Eternal Warrior helm is back in stock again with Xur. From a gameplay perspective, it’s specifically aimed at Striker Titans as its intrinsic perk Resolute gives the player an overshield after Fists of Havoc is activated. While a cool looking exotic item, it’s ability just really isn’t as impactful as others available to Titans. An overshield is always helpful, but it’s not likely going to turn the tide in any significant way.

The roll this week is okay, with a 64 in total, though some of the stats Titan players would like to see a bit higher aren’t the focus and instead players have Intellect as the highest stat this week.

Exotic Weapon

Seen quite a bit over the last few months, thelinear fusion rifle known as The Queenbreakeris back in stock this weekend. It allows players to pick how they want the gun to fire. Through Marksman sights, players can stack additional damage with long-range sights that also display ammo and charge levels. The tradeoff is that it takes the gun a little longer to fully charge before firing. Combat sights give the player faster charges and greater handling, though they can’t zoom in as far.

The exotic perk for this weapon is called Wire Rifle which fires a long range precision Arc bolt that blinds enemies on hit. Players can also change the sights on it which impacts charge time and damage. This is a bit of a skill weapon, so it won’t be for everyone. However, those who give it a chance will find that it’s pretty useful in the right situations, even though it requires heavy ammo.

Additional perks:

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
