Yesterday, Bungie revealed a number of new details aboutDestiny 2’s Season of Dawn, which will be available to players next Tuesday, December 10. These details included information on theSeason of Dawn Pass rewards, on a new seasonal PvE mode called The Sundial, and more, and the developer is back with even more for fans to digest, releasing a Destiny 2 Season 9 roadmap that outlines specifically how the Season of Dawn will unfold.
This roadmap was shared during today’sDestiny 2Season of Dawn reveal stream, and it can be viewed in its entirety below. While not all of the entries on theDestiny 2Season of Dawn roadmap are fully detailed, this calendar should give fans a solid sense of the content that they can expect to encounter over the next several months.

As many players will expect, much of this content is focused aroundDestiny 2’s new PvE mode, The Sundial, which the roadmap indicates will be refreshed several times throughout Season 9. For the uninitiated, The Sundial is a 6-player matchmade activity, available to Season Pass owners, that will pit Guardians against the Cabal and ask them to “journey through time save a legendary hero.”
This newDestiny 2roadmap also confirms that the Season of Dawn will contain two exotic quests: one for the Devil’s Ruin sidearm and the other for the Bastion fusion rifle. Images of these new exotic weapons were revealed yesterday, but the roadmap has shared their names and confirmed that the associated quests will go live on January 7 and January 28 respectively.
Furthermore, the calendar confirms that two limited-time events, The Dawning andCrimson Days, will return during Season of Dawn. More specifically, The Dawning, which is a celebration of the winter season, will be live December 17 to January 14, and Crimson Days, which “honors the unbreakable bonds Guardians forge,” will be available February 11 to 18.
WithDestiny 2’s Season of Dawn, it appears that Bungie is looking to continue its focus on content that evolves over the course of a season, and time will tell if The Sundial is able to sustain players' interest through the upcoming months. Indeed, the absence of something on the scale of anewDestiny 2raidmay leave some fans concerned about the depth of content offered in Season 9, and hopefully the new exotic quests, limited-time events, and additional PvP offerings will be enough to keep these players sated.
