Etheris a very important resource as it allows Guardians to unlock the extra Conflux Chest found at the end of thenew Override seasonal activity. Conflux Chests are opened with Key Codes, which are crafted within the Splicer Gauntlet for 50 Ether each and are kept in the Gauntlet’s storage slots.

How to Get Ether in Destiny 2
Destiny 2players can gather Ether through a number of ways, each awarding a varying amount. Completing Vanguard Strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit matches will award players with large amounts of Ether, with speedrunning Strikes being one of the most efficient ways to earn Ether.
Players can alsoearn Ether from completing Public Eventsand simply from defeating combatants. The amount of Ether gained from Public Events is less than the playlist activities but still a good amount. Meanwhile, defeating combatants has an extremely low chance of granting Ether and it is typically awarded one at a time as well.

Recently earned Ether will briefly appear on the right of the screen, in the same place as recently earned Glimmer. By hovering their cursor over theFallen Splicer Gauntlet itemin their Quest slots,Destiny 2players can also check how much Ether they currently have, as well as the maximum Ether capacity of the Gauntlet.
The bottom of the Splicer Gauntlet information will also tell players that a certain playlist is awarding bonus Ether. Any players desperately in need of Ether should definitely head into whichever playlist is awarding bonus Ether to complete a few activities.
Destiny 2players can however improve the drop rates of Ether and improve the Gauntlet’s Ether and Key Code capacities by upgrading the Gauntlet with Decrypted Data. Unlocking the Ether Filter and Recirculator upgrades improves the chance of getting Ether from defeating combatants, while the final Ether upgrade, Ether purifier, also increases the amount of Ether earned from completing activities.
The Memory Expansion upgrades will increase the Splicer Gauntlet’s Ether and Key Code capacities and are very useful upgrades to have early on so that players can gather lots of Ether and store several Key Codes to reduce wasted time through farming Ether.
