The new Season of the Deep inDestiny 2once again puts the spotlight on the Hive, but some players have recently encountered a bug that causes them to die instantly when crushing an enemy Hive Ghost. Similar sorts of bugs have been surprisingly common inDestiny 2since its latest season launched, with such issues regularly accompanying the releases of new content drops for the game.
In terms of content, Season of the Deep has been a big one forDestiny 2as far as seasons go. It sees players finally returning to the methane oceans of Titan, this time plunging deep beneath the waves to face new threats and challenges. Alongside new sets of themed, seasonal armor and weapons, Season of the Deep also marks the arrival ofDestiny 2’s newest dungeon activity, while also throwing in a few surprises for players such as a fishing mechanic. All in all, there’s a lot for fans to dive into this season, though server issues and gameplay bugs have run rampant since the new season released earlier in May.

At this point it’s become something of a tradition forDestiny 2content releasesto be accompanied by frequent technical problems, though one popular bug has been causing players to die instantly upon executing finishers. Though this particular issue has likely been experienced by most fans already, one lesser-known but similar issue was documented by a member of the community named SnooOranges1416 on Reddit. A clip shared by this player shows them dying on the spot when crushing an enemy Hive Ghost, which was reported by the game as death by ‘misadventure.’ Random deaths are unfortunately not a rarity inDestiny 2, but bugs such as these have been making life hard for fans seeking to complete the new dungeon flawlessly.
While Hive Lightbearers seem to have taken a back seat since they were introduced withThe Witch Queenexpansion in 2022, the newest season puts a focus on the Hive’s forces yet again. Not every bug introduced with the Season of the Deep has been a pain for players, though. While this one was patched by the developers within hours, an issue discovered shortly after Season 21 went live providedDestiny 2players a way of acquiring a limitless amount of legendary shards.
As expected,Destiny 2’s new Ghosts of the Deep dungeonhas been a hot topic among the game’s community since it recently went live. Many other issues have already been patched out since the season began, and thankfully fans likely won’t have to wait too long until Bungie releases a hotfix to patch out some of the game’s most irritating bugs at the moment.
