Given its shonen trappings, it’s only a given thatDemon Slayerdoes adhere to certain cliches and been-there-done-that moments, even if the execution is flawless. One way this is achieved is via a bevy of amazing transformations that increase the powers of both heroes and villains to new levels.

Please note some of these transformations spoil key moments and reveals in theDemon Slayermanga.

Hantengu from Demon Slayer

7Hantengu’s Emotional Manifestations

Hantengu is the newest threat to arrive inDemon Slayer, with his presence in the Swordsmith Village arc making for a great sight indeed. While he appears to be a fragile and pathetic old man even after being a member of the Upper Demon Moons, it doesn’t take too long to reveal just how dangerous this foe really is…especially when he reveals his Blood Demon Art.

Hantengu can essentially create clones from his body that personify one of his emotions, with each clone harboring a unique power of his own! While some people may not consider this a transformation in the usual sense, the argument can still be made because of how radically different Hantengu’s base form really is from the many clones that originate from his body.

Genya’s Demon Form in Demon Slayer

6Genya’s Demon Form

Before Swordsmith Village, people didn’t really get to see a lot of Genya. He seemed like the archetypical edge lord who was moody for the sake of it. However, with the advent of the latest arc, fans are now well aware of the extent of his powers andwhy this particular demon slayer harbors such a dark side.

While fighting against one of Hantengu’s many clones, Genya reveals a darker side to him in the form of a demonic transformation that made him seem like the monsters that he was supposed to hunt down in the first place! His character has quickly become quite interesting as fans absolutely loved his monstrous form, with many people wanting to see the role this demon slayer plays in the later arcs of the show.

5Nezuko’s Full Demon Form

Nezuko is easily one of the most adorable characters in the show, making it rather hard to believe that she’s actually a demon. Despite refusing to eat human flesh, Nezuko is pretty powerful in her own right and can stand toe-to-toe with the Upper Rank Demon Moons too!

One of her most striking powers comes in the form of a Full Demon form that she employs when she goes berserk with rage. Watching her expand in size while patterns form on her skin and a demonic horn appears on her head makes for a great time and was easily a major highlight during the Entertainment District arc.

4Kaigaku Turning Into A Demon

Kaigaku wasa student of Thunder Breathingwho trained along with Zenitsu under the watchful eyes of Jigoro Kuwajima. While Zenitsu could only master the first form, Kaigaku showed proficiency in all other forms… except for the first, which displeased Jigoro to no end. He tried to make Kaigaku understand that mastering the first form was key to Thunder Breathing, but his student wasn’t willing to listen.

However, after encountering Kokushibo as a roaming demon slayer and surrendering to his might, Kaigaku decided to become a demon to save his own hide. This transformation augmented his powers immensely, allowing him to reach new heights of power and augment his Thunder Breathing style with powerful black lightning!

3Michikatsu Transforming Into Kokushibo

Technically, if permanent demon transformations count, then every member of the Upper Rank Demon Moons deserves a mention. However, it’s Kokushibo’s history andhis strong ties with the creator of Sun Breathing himselfthat makes his transformation all the more riveting to witness firsthand.

He is the creator of Moon Breathing, yet constantly felt inferior to his brother. This feeling was made even worse by the fact that Yoriichi was frail and weak as a child yet harbored an innate level of talent in sword fighting that Michikatsu could never aspire to. In a bid to become stronger than his brother by any means necessary, he accepted Muzan’s and became a nightmarish demon.

2The Demon Slayer Mark

After seeing how much the Hashira struggled against the Upper Rank Demon Moons, many viewers wondered how these demon slayers could even stand a chance of tackling the major threats of the show, not to mention Muzan itself. Thankfully, series creator Koyoharu Gotouge had a simple and interesting solution to this problem — the Demon Slayer Mark.

This Mark has already manifested itself incharacters like Tanjiro and Muichiro, with their powers increasing exponentially as a result. It may not be a striking visual transformation, but the effect it has on a user’s strength is immense and allows characters to destroy many powerful demons by pushing their bodies to their very limits.

1Muzan’s Biokinesis

The fight against Muzan will prove to be an immense spectacle asevery demon slayer puts their body on the line to fight this imposing foe. People are already aware of the different forms Muzan can take, but the true extent of his powers is still a mystery for anime fans.

Muzan’s Blood Demon Art is Biokinesis, allowing him to alter his body in ways that are truly nightmarish and take out enemies with amazing precision. The white-haired version of his character that appears near the end of the manga stems from the aging caused by Shinobu’s poison, which he had to absorb by transforming his body into a flesh cocoon.
