Last year,Call of Duty: Warzonecelebrated Halloween with a special event known as The Haunting. This event sawCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers deal with the undead in a special Zombie Royale mode and gave them the opportunity to purchase skins based onSawandThe Texas Chainsaw Massacrefrom the item shop. NowCall of Duty: Warzonehas pulled the curtain back on what fans can expect from this year’s iteration of The Haunting, which runs from October 19 to November 2.
As previously leaked,Call of Duty: Warzonewill be adding skins based onGhostface fromScreamand Frank the Rabbit fromDonnie Darko. TheCall of Duty: WarzoneScream bundle includes Ghostface, “Violent End” Finishing Move, the “Cordless Phone” Weapon Charm, the “Scary Hours” Watch, three Legendary Weapon Blueprints, and an animated Emblem as well as an animated Calling Card. Players will also get the Ghost Blade melee weapon, which resembles the iconic knife that Ghostface uses on his victims in theScreamfilm franchise.

Call of Duty: Warzonefans that purchase theDonnie Darkobundle will get the Frank the Rabbit skin, the Sky is Falling Finishing Move, Epic-rarity cosmetic items, and three Legendary Weapon blueprints. It doesn’t seem to be quite as extravagant as theScreambundle, but it should still provide plenty for fans of theDonnie Darkofilm to enjoy.
There will be special Halloween-themed bundles for otherCall of Duty: WarzoneOperators when The Haunting event goes live, but in terms of gameplay, players can look forward to a special limited-time mode. Replacing theZombie Royale modefrom last year is Ghosts of Verdansk mode, which sees players turn into ghosts when they die instead of getting sent to the gulag. Ghosts that successfully kill other players and steal their souls will be able to spawn back into the action.
To add to the scares,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers will have to manage a Fear meter when playing the Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode. Various events can causeCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers' Fear to increase, at which point players may start to experience hallucinations.Call of Duty: Warzonehad plenty of jump scaresas part of last year’s Halloween event, and it seems they will be coming back in full force this year.
It should be noted that thanks toCall of Duty: Warzone’s integration withBlack Ops Cold War, this content will be shared between the two games.Black Ops Cold Warplayers can also look forward to a special variation of theNuketown multiplayer mapthat decks it out with Halloween decorations.
