Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers are always trying to perfect their gameplay. DespiteCall of Dutybeing a decades-old franchise, there are always different ways players can practice and improve. Whether they are trying to get better with the new Spoter Scope that was added in Season 4, or winning close matches with the self-revive feature, players still have a lot to learn in the game. One YouTuber has broken down how to improve one huge feature of the game: Sniping.
WhileWarzoneis still fairly new, its core mechanics have been around for years and years. Any competitive shooter has sniping as a core part of its gameplay, andWarzone’s huge map size makes long-range weapons even more important. However, sniping does have some risk to it, asshooting and missing gives away the player’s positionwithout any reward. That is why players need to perfect their sniping techniques until enemy players don’t stand a chance.

YouTuber IceManIsaac made a detailed video showcasing his sniping skills and offeredseveral tips for player who want to improve their skillsusing what he calls Drag Scoping. He points out how aim assist works differently inWarzone. Rather than snapping onto an enemy when aiming at them, player aim will slow down when approaching an enemy.
TheWarzoneveteran explains that if players draw an invisible line across an enemy, eventually the player’s aim will begin to drag. Once the aim assist takes over and drags the reticle, that is the perfect time to take a shot. This becomes easier if the player adjusts their controller to decrease dead zone settings in order to have optimal control over aiming speed.
This changes a lot abouthow players normally use snipers. Rather than trying to lead the shot—where someone tries to time the enemy’s run speed and shoot ahead of them, causing the enemy to basically run into the bullet’s path—this instead allows players to shoot someone on the go by actually aiming at them.
Even if sniping isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it helps to know what the enemy’s tactics are. This of course can be countered with some classic zig-zagging and smart movement when out in the open. With all of the recent cheating controversy, honest tips like these are a bright light in the game right now.Season 5 is only a few weeks away, and it may bring with it a whole new skill level of sniping if players take these tips to heart.
