The reboot ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a hit with the majority of its players and this is partly because of its steady stream of content. Recently,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehad a significant 30GB updateand it seems that the game is now introducing some mysterious clues to what the future may hold. There is plenty of speculation about the clue being connected toBlack Opsbut there are also some contrasting theories that could also be a logical step for the game.
TheCall of Dutyfranchise has managed to consistently deliver first-person shooting action to a huge fan base. With that in mind, it was not a surprise when the reboot of one of its most successful titles,Modern Warfare, was a commercial triumph. Nevertheless, the game has now achieved longevity through its updates, and introducing new elements and game modes will likely continue to satisfy the players of the title.

The image posted on Reddit shows an in-game screenshot of a message under the subject heading “Tactical Alert”. The message details Coalition SIGINT intercepting flash traffic from outside Verdansk (which is whereCall of Duty: Warzonetakes place), and it goes on to urge players to be vigilant for enemy surveillance on May 21. It seems that the content will be coming toWarzonevery soon, and many players have begun to draw conclusions fromleaked content aboutCall of Duty: Black Opscoming to the game mode. Some players have noted that the bunkers have had a “Black Opsvibe” and many will hope that the rumored cold war basedBlack Opswill be delivered, although this could be indicative of other updates to the franchise.
One fan has suggested that the map may be nuked at the end of this saga and possibly lead to a newWarzonemap. Other battle royale games such asFortnitehave used similar tactics to change mapsand this move would play into the emerging conventions of the genre. Some fans also suggested that it may be a hint at an upcomingCall of Dutytitle although that seems unlikely given the changes and messages happening withinModern Warfare. Either way, it seems thatModern Warfarewill be adding even more content for players to enjoy.
