Two fan-favorite characters fromCall of Duty’sModern Warfare 2campaign are set to go head-to-head during the upcoming Season 3 ofWarzone 2andModern Warfare 2Multiplayer. These short cinematics sometimes feature popular characters from the most recent campaign that the current multiplayer suite is tied to, continuing the main story in a small way. The seven-second teaser features Los Vaqueros leader and newest member of Task Force 141 Alejandro Vargas gearing up to take on the leader of the Las Almas Cartel Valeria Garza, who’s once again on the loose.

Toward the end ofModern Warfare 2’s campaign, players rescue Valeria from the clutches of the freshly turned Shadow Company and send her to imprisonment in Mexico after she reveals the location of the final missileTask Force 141are after. Before she’s taken away by Alejandro, she boastfully remarks that she’ll be out of prison within 24 hours. Fast-forward five months to Season 3 and that’s precisely what seems to have happened.

SinceModern Warfare 2is such a huge name within theCall of Dutyfranchise it will be interesting to see if there are bigger plans for this showdown between fan-favorites Alejandro and Valeria than a season-opening cinematic and character skins; perhaps a specific mode or event. There have been leaks pointing toanother popularCall of Dutycharacter joining the fray in Season 3as well, so there may be more to be revealed in the coming days. Players won’t have long to wait, as Season 3 releases on April 12.
