Yesterday, Infinity Ward revealed a myriad of details about the highly-anticipated second season ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. These details gave fans confirmation on the content that will available onday one ofCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2, and players can access that content right now, as the new update has just gone live.
Indeed, players across all platforms will find that a number of new maps, modes, and more are now available inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. Among these new offerings is Rust, a fan-favorite map originally introduced in 2009’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which has been added toCoD: MWas both a multiplayer map and a Gunfight map.

Furthermore,Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2 has kicked off with the addition of an all new multiplayer map called Atlas Superstore as well as a new Ground War map called Zhokov Boneyard. These, in addition toCoD: MW’s Rust, are the full extent of the new maps that are available right now, but more maps, including Khandor Hideout and Bazaar, will be released “later in the season.”
With respect to new modes, theCall of DutyLeague Ruleset Playlist multiplayer modeis available now alongside the start ofCoD: MWSeason 2. Fans can also expect Gunfight Tournament, Demolition, and more to be added over the course of this second season, though Infinity Ward has not yet provided exact dates for the arrivals of these additional modes.
Today’s update also refreshesCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Battle Pass, and players can now begin unlocking the items found across its many tiers. As with the game’s previous Battle Pass, theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2 Battle Pass features two paths, one that is free and the other that must be purchased, and players on both sides can look forward to obtaining new weapons, COD points, and more.
Additionally, those that purchase theCoD: MWSeason 2 Battle Pass will immediately unlockSimon “Ghost” Riley, a fan-favorite character that debuted inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This Ghost unlockable is a nice counterpart to the aforementioned Rust map, and indeed it seems that both veterans of the franchise and newcomers alike have a lot to look forward to now thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s second season is live.
