Inside of the multiplayer and Warzone modes forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, players are presented with all sorts of customization options such as the operator they use, perks, killstreams, and even how weapons look.Weapon Camo is a big partof making a players gear stand out, but in order to unlock new options, certain requirements first need to be met. These range from easier objectives like killing enemies, to tougher ones like getting three kills without dying. Topo camo hunters received some great news with this latest Season 4 update which should make things a bit easier.
Over on theCall of Duty: Modern WarfaresubReddit, one of the many subtle changes to the base game has finally come to light. In order to unlock new Topo camo for various weapons, players were required to mount their weapon on a solid surface and get kills from that position. However, with the most recent update, things appear to have changed as the challenge no longer displays the mounted kills requirement and instead shows a double kills requirement instead.

The biggest element of this change is that it’ll be a bit easier to score some of thosecompletionist camos like Damascus or Obsidian. For many players, Topo was the most slowest camo to unlock as it required players to remain stationary and mounted against a surface. In a fast paced action shooter likeCall of Duty, staying still for any portion of time typically meant a quick death or getting executed from behind.
There are those in the community who are speculating that this change wasn’t intentional and could likely be a bug. The Topo change is visible on thenewest guns like the Vector SMG, making it extremely easy to earn mastery camo. Some have indicated that the SKS had a similar bug in prior seasons which took the studio a few weeks to ultimately correct. Either way, Battle Pass owners who are at level 15 or above should start working on this weapon to quickly earn camo fast.
If this is a bug, it likely wouldn’t surprise players asCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas a long history with odd glitches, quirks, and bugs. In fact, Xbox one players were on the recieving end of a particularly nasty one during the Season 4 update which essentiallydoubled the required file size from 40 to 80GB. Infinity Ward also announced that Gun Game has also been temporarily deactivated due to an unspecified bug. At this time, there’s no indication of when it’ll be put back in rotation.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
