From tranquil ponds to bustling riverbanks, these locations promise more than just a good catch — they offer unforgettable experiences for adventurers of all stripes.

14Hideaway Bluffs

Map: Bahari Bay

TheHideaway Bluffsis a convenient place to fish, being so close to the Bahari Bay entrance, but it offers a minimal variety of fish. In this pond, players will often hook Calico, Scarlet Koi, Mirror Carp, and Stalking Catfish. If they work hard enough and use the correct bait, they might catch rare and epic fish likeCloudfishandGiant Goldfish.

Hassian and his loyal plumehound Tau frequent this location, makingHideaway Bluffsa good spot for both fishing andflirting withPalia’s brooding hottie. If players aren’t interested in the beauty of this location and the villagers that visit there, there are plenty of other places that are better suited for fishers.

13Whispering Banks

Map: Kilima

TheWhispering Banksare located along the eastern border of Kilima. Players can fish in this area of the map, following the Kilima River, for a variety of different common, uncommon, and rare fish.

This location is home to the epic fish known as theFlametongue Ray. It often appears during the morning and daytime and can be captured using glow worms as bait. Catching this fish is a requirement for the Flamerod Bundle in the Vault of the Flames. They also sell for quite a bit of money if players are looking fora way to make more gold. Basic Flametongue Rays sell for 375 gold and star-quality ones sell for 562 gold.

12Hodari & Najuma’s House

Hodari and his daughter, Najuma, live in Bahari Bay a short walk north of the entrance. There is a pond outside their home that is great for fishing in. Here, players will find several different types of koi and carp. Many flock to this pond searching for fish, and fishing in groups with others will help players gain fishing XP at a faster rate.

In this pond,players who fish with glow wormshave the chance of encountering the epicGiant Goldfish. Catching this fish and turning it in towards the Freshwater Bundle in the Vault of Waves will help unlock special rewards like bait, recipes, and gold.

11Outer Docks/Boat House

What better place to go fishing than a boat house with fishing docks? It is located in the southwestern corner of Kilima, between Gillyfin Cove and Remembrance Beach. Players can gather and fish together for a skill bonus multiplayer. This location has a similar fish variety to Fisherman’s Lagoon, which is a short walk east of theOuter Docks.

Fish like Alligator Gars and Beluga Sturgeons are commonly found in this location. If players persist and use higher quality rods and glow worms, they can come across rare fish like theMidnight Paddlefish, which is needed to complete Elouisa’s level four discovery quest “When We Were Young.” The Shimmerfin fish can also be found here and is one of the requirements to complete the Magic Bundle in the Vault of Waves.

10Leafhopper Hills

At first glance on a map, it may not look likeLeafhopper Hillswould be a popular fishing location. It can be found on the western side of Kilima, between Daia Family Farm and Gillyfin Cove. Many players know this place as thehot spot for mining copper, but the small pond in Leafhopper Hills is perfect for catching smaller-sized fish. Common and otherwise low-value fish aregood for cooking sushi.

The Leafhopper Hills pond has similar fish to ponds near Hodari and Najuma’s house, the home lot, and the Mirror Ruins. Common fish like koi, carp, and catfish often reside here. With hard work and persistence, lucky players can catch the epic Giant Goldfish and the rareCloudfish.

9Bahari Bay Coast

On the easternmostcoast of Bahari Bay, players will find a large body of water outstretching further than the eye can see. Those who fish along this coast will find fish such as bass, tuna, and rays. Fishing with glow worms during the daytime can result in finding the epicLong Nosed Unicorn Fish, which is required to complete the Magic Bundle.

Using worms as bait, some may findthe recipe for fish stewoff the Bahari Bay Coast. Fish stew is a dish often requested by NPC villagers, but consuming it gives players a boost of 100 focus points and a minor safe zone speed boost. It’s also a key location forcompleting the Fishing for Answers quest.

8Flooded Fortress

Although it can be difficult to find access to, theFlooded Fortressis a great spot for fishing, treasure hunting, and catching bugs. There are two entrances to this area of Bahari Bay. The first is through the Pavel Mines, and the second involves traversing the path south from The Outskirts. If players are okay with spending gold, they could alsofast-travel to The Outskirtsto save time.

Along with fish such as trout, rays, and minnows, dedicated players with a hefty supply of glow worms may come across theSwordfin Eel. This fish isn’t required for any bundles or quests but counts toward fishing accomplishments. They sell for 375 gold (or 562 gold for star-quality Swordfin Eels).

7Thorny Thicket

Thorny Thicket,home to the villager Tamala, is a unique location in Bahari Bay because it includes opportunities to catch both pond-native fish and a river mouth for catching river fish. There are a combined total of 15 fish in this area of varying rarity. Few locations inPaliacan offer two types of epic fish, including theGiant Goldfishand theSwordfin Eel.

There are also a variety of rare fish that can be caught and sold for gold. Fishing has proven to be a greatPaliahobby, allowing players to make money to fund their house renovations, garden plots, and item conquests. The long trek to the northern tip of Bahari Bay proves to be more than rewarding for players who enjoy fishing.

6Fisherman’s Lagoon

In Kilima, players should visit theFisherman’s Lagoon. It’s where Einar hangs out for the majority of the day. This location has the same types of fish as the Outer Docks location with the addition of Einar’s favorite fish: the Gillyfin. In addition to this added fish, players favor this location over the Boat House due to the added companionship of Einar.

Fisherman’s Lagoon is located at the southeast corner of the Kilima map. Here, players will find fish such as the Enchanted Pupfish, the Striped Sturgeon, and the Giant Kilima Stingray, which are part of separate bundles. After completingall bundles for the Vault of Waves quest, players will unlock the epicAncient Fishthat can be caught in the Fisherman’s Lagoon or along the coast of Kilima Lake.

5Statue Garden

TheStatue Gardenis an underrated spot to catch fish in Bahari Bay. At this location on the map, two rivers converge and flow into the Coral Shores and the Bahari Bay coast. Get there by traveling to the northeast corner of the map. Bahari Bay rivers, players will find fish like Silvery Minnows, Oily Anchovies, and Cutthroat Trout, which are all gifts often requested by villagers.

For example, gifting Cutthroat Trout to villagers like Kenyatta and Elouisa isa good way to raise friendship levelsquickly. At the Statue Garden, players will also find the rareStormray, which is needed to complete the Cloudcurrent Bundle in the Vault of the Gale Quest. Make sure to use lots of glow worms as bait and only fish during the morning and evening hours of the game.
