Baldur’s Gate 3is a massive RPG with all kinds of quests and characters. Mystic Carrion is a mysterious Mummy Lord who has taken up residence in the Lower City section of Baldur’s Gate. You can find him at Philgrave’s Mansion right below the Heapside Strand fast travel point. Speak to him to receive the quest to helpfind his servant Thrumbo.Doing the “Free the Artist” quest will also point you to Mystic Carrion. Siding against him will lead to a fight in the mansion. Unfortunately, the Mystic Carrion will keep reviving unless you discover the secret to ending his immortality. You’ll have to find his Ancient Lair deep underneath the city to defeat him for good.
Enter the Sewers
You will have to enter the dank sewersunderneath the Lower Cityto find the lair. There are many entrances to the sewer, but the most convenient is the manholebehind the Gitter Galabuilding near Bloomridge Park. Simply interact with the manhole in the alley to descend into the sewers.
Deal With Aelis
In the sewers, go to the left, then right across the bridge with all the talking Mephits. This area is covered ingreaseso watch out for slipping and going prone. Use the spell or a potion of Grant Flight to traverse this area.
Aelisis a sorcerer across the bridge. He is holding a vigil for his dead friend Sarin. You can convince him to let you walk through, but if youcome back this way, he and his allies will attack. He will use fire on the grease and light up all the grease on the ground if he does.
Ancient Lair Location
Continue to the right down the stairs and more Mephits. Open the large wooden door and head north.
Eventually, you will reach the fast travel pointfor theUndercity Ruinsat coordinates(X:-141, Y:941.)Headwestpast the mute trader to find a passageway leading further down into the underground.
Mystic Carrion’s Organs
This is Mystic Carrion’s Ancient Lair. Enter to find many chests strewn about the area. Opening one will awaken mummy enemies and inflict Spell Roton your entire party.Spell Rotwill inflict damage on any creature that casts a spell.
Defeat all the mummies and inspect the wall on the right side of the room. Your party will discover ahidden doorthat can be lock picked. Look through Mystic Carrion’s lab to find hisbrainon the table with the mutilated body. Hislivercan be found in the lockedGilded Chestto the left of the body. Anote titled “Funerary Jar and Function"can be found to the right of the body on the desk. This note will reveal the location of Mystic Carrion’s heart. Exit using the ladder and then pulling a lever to end up back at the mute trader by the Undercity Ruins fast travel.
