APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan drew some thematic digital sketches of the four legendary Pokemon of the Teal Mask DLC as humans, and put their work on social media for fans to see. In The Teal Mask,Pokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers were taken on a field trip to the land of Kitakami, located somewhere to the east of the Paldea region. From the get-go, Pokemon fans pointed out how Kitakami was inspired by previousPokemonregions such as Johto and Sinnoh, and how the tale of Ogerpon and the Loyal Three was inspired by the real-world folktale of Momotaro. Though drawing Pokemon as “gijinka” is not new, as proven byfan art of Magby as a human, the fact that the four Legendary Pokemon of Kitakami are already bipedal makes the task easier. As a result, one artist used Japanese culture as a source of inspiration for their work.
On the r/pokemon subreddit, a fan named jimbojims0 shared what Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, and all four versions of Ogerpon would look like as gijinka-style humans.Starting with the Loyal ThreeofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the OP drew Okidogi as a rough and burly man with a low-cut top, chest hair, green samurai leg armor, and green gauntlets with claws. For Munkidori, the OP drew them with their Toxic Chain adorning their back and ankles in addition to their head and kept the blue Retainer Pokemon as a slender figure. Fezandipiti was drawn similar to a geisha, with its feathers adoring a long robe and hair beret, with the Toxic Chain covering the front of the body.
As for Ogerpon herself, the Mask Pokemon was given four different-colored outfits to compliment the mask she dons. In each outfit, Ogerpon had long green hair, with her golden eyes and horns remaining intact. She held a mask in her left hand, and her signature Ivy Cudgel was in her right hand. When holding the Teal Mask, Ogerpon’s outfit and cudgel remained green. When she respectively held the Hearthflame, Wellspring, and Cornerstone masks, Ogerpon’s outfit and cudgel changed colors to match the mask, just as it does inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The OP received compliments from otherPokemonfans for turning the Kitakami quartet into gijinka. Withthe Indigo Disk DLC right around the corner, it remains to be seen what gijinka fan artPokemontrainers will make next.
