Apex LegendsSeason 9 Legacy brings a ton of changes to the battle royale that players are receiving positively so far. One of the biggest additions to the game isApex Legendsnew Legend, Valkyrie, who is already proving to be a strong character among the growing roster.
Though Valkyrie has only been in players hands for a few days, players are already figuring out how best to use her unique abilities in and out of combat. Recently, one player discovered a way to extend Valkyrie’s flight distance and length, which could make this recon Legend just that much stronger inApex Legends' meta.

As a recon Legend, Valkyrie’s main role on a team is to survey areas, locate enemy positions, and generally have decent awareness of the map during a match. However,Valkyrie’s abilities make her strongin combat as well, thanks to her ability to reposition easily via her jetpack passive. Valkyrie can fly and hover with the jetpack on her back as long as she has enough fuel. However, thanks to a video on the Apex University subreddit, it looks like there are a variety of tricks players can use to extend Valkyrie’s flight.
The video in question, posted by a user by the name Swogglenoz, goes over Valkyrie’s normal flight distance by simply holding the respective button down, performing short bursts, and then performing longer bursts. Both of the latter methods allow Valkyrie to extend her distance while flying, but not by an overly impressive margin. However, when players hold downValkyrie’s tactical ability while flying, the length of her flight ability is increased tremendously. It’s very impressive just how long Valkyrie is able to stay in the air while holding her tactical ability in the air.
Thankfully, this ability comes with a major drawback for her, otherwiseValkyrie would absolutely be overpowered. While holding Valkyrie’s tactical during flight essentially doubles the flight length, her movement speed is severely slowed. If players were to try to use this trick to escape combat or fool opponents, they would essentially be sitting ducks for their enemies. As such, this trick isn’t an exploit and will most likely remain in the game for players to use.
Still, Valkyrie does have a few actual game breaking aspects to her kit. Recently, players have posted videos ofValkyrie’s ultimate ability glitching outpretty severely, even causing some players to fall through the map. Though the issue only happens in certain cases because of map geometry, it can still limit the way that Valkyrie can use her abilities. Hopefully, as Season 9 continues on Respawn is able to smooth out some of the rough edges that players have been noticing with the new content. For now though, players are enjoying finding out just what has changed in this Season and what Valkyrie can do in the Apex Games.
