Summary
The recently releasedMortal Kombat 1has impressed fans with the respectable amount of content that it offers to players. As an ambitious reboot, players can become familiar with new takes on classic characters within the longest story mode that the IP has ever seen, or play single matches against AI and online opponents.
To fully explore everything thatMortal Kombat 1has to offer, dedicated fans may decide to tackle the game’s imposing achievement/trophy list, which covers objectives related to all aspects of the title’s content. Many of these achievements will be a breeze for achievement hunters and longstanding veterans of the franchise, but one achievement in particular will dampen any hopes of perfecting the release. As it stands, oneMortal Kombat 1achievement is completely unobtainable, causing chaos within achievement and trophy hunting circles.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Unobtainable Achievement
Despite only releasing on September 14, keen fans have been hard at work chipping away atMortal Kombat 1’s wide-spanning achievement list. The greatly anticipated fighting rebootboasts 50 achievements in total which aim to challenge fans across every facet of gameplay the title offers, ranging from story-related feats to time-consuming tasks intended to reward dedicated gameplay.
Achievement and trophy hunters will be glad to hear that difficulty does not impact any of these challenges, meaning all achievements can be acquired on the game’s relaxed Very Easy mode. Compared to most achievement lists, getting the vast majority ofMortal Kombat 1’s achievements is not that daunting of a task, with estimates suggesting that a player can unlock all but two achievements in just 15 hours of playtime.
One of these remaining achievements is quite time-consuming, with “Rollin' With My Krew” requiring players to attainmastery status for five different Kameo Characters. These are the characters that can join a player in combat briefly as an ally, coming with their own move sets and fatalities, and mastering five of them reportedly takes up to ten hours. As if this overall grind was not enough, the last remaining achievement inMortal Kombat 1cannot be obtained whatsoever as things stand.
The achievement “The Mighty Have Fallen” requires players to complete a Titan Battle, only being worth a modest 15 gamerscore on Xbox and being a bronze trophy on PlayStation. In the current version of the game, players are none the wiser as to what a Titan Battle is or how it can be completed, making it impossible to get 100% completion. It is sensible to assume that Titan Battles simply refer tocontent that has not yet been released forMortal Kombat 1, with the game being expected to enjoy an extensive and layered post-launch roadmap of additional content.
With the game bizarrely choosing to involve an achievement tied to Titan Battles in its base achievement list, it can be inferred that they will be added in the very near future. Titan Battles sound like large-scale fights against intensely power-scaled enemies, and a new Titan Battle could potentially come with each major content update that the game receives.Season 2 content forMortal Kombat 1is set to release in the next few months, with this being the most logical time for Titan Battles to finally be added to the game. NetherRealm Studios will not wantMortal Kombat 1to possess a broken achievement list for too long, so perfectionists will hopefully be able to achieve 100% completion in the title soon.
Mortal Kombat 1is available now for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
